Editorial standards

How we handle claims.

Our job is to make product and nutrition language easier to evaluate—not to turn reporting into treatment advice.

01

Source the rule

Regulatory and nutrition guidance links to primary organizations whenever practical.

02

Attribute the claim

Statements about a brand’s sourcing, formulation, endorsements, or manufacturing remain company claims unless independently documented.

03

Disclose participation

When a featured company supplies information, that relationship is shown prominently.

04

Avoid diagnosis

We do not recommend products to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent disease.

05

Invite veterinary context

Dogs with allergies, chronic conditions, therapeutic diets, or adverse reactions need guidance from a licensed veterinarian.

06

Correct the record

Substantive corrections are made when reliable evidence shows that published material is inaccurate.
